I was planning on going out this morning, just to post some Birthday cards and get a few bits and bobs for when the Grandkids come later.
However, I have got up this morning and ……it’s b r a s s monkeys out there.
Really it’s the weather to stay indoors with the fire on, a coffee and Netflix…..but I will brave the weather today….just put my big Winter coat on I think.
For those not familiar with the saying …….B r a s s monkeys …..it means extremely cold.
I had to leave spaces in the word as apparently it’s a bad word…..

B R A S S monkeys means freeze parts off that you'd rather keep.
We still have fall temps for now. It's 16C here this morning. I would still be wearing jean shorts, a sleeveless shirt and sandals if we were going somewhere this morning.1 person likes this

It's funny sometimes what words the site objects to.

@Traceyjayne It finds 'bad words' in the most strange places. For example it doesn't like 'chard onnay'.

@JudyEv can’t think that would be a problem ! Very strange.

I know I tried to upload it and it sad ‘bad word ‘. And wouldn’t let it upload. I wondered what would have happened if I was posting about something made from that material.

I got the that b r a s s monkeys meant it was pretty darn cold. I never heard that term before but I love it
Next time we have a freezing cold day I'm going to use it.
It's overcast and dismal here today but not as cold as it is where you are.

I love these old sayings. I fear that most will die out, as the younger generation don’t use them or know what they mean !

@Traceyjayne this younger generation has a language all their own and half the time I have no idea what my grandkids are saying. Guess each generation has their own lingo.

It's chilly here too. I HATE this weather and the short days. Stay warm and have a good weekend.
