It's my Mom's birthday. Or was. She made it to 97. So......go wallow in doughnuts cause Mom was known for her home made doughnuts? I'm pretty sure I can't find apple strudel like my Grandma supposedly made. Mom said that Grandma would stretch the strudel dough to the size of a card table......Wow and yum. A warmed, decent butterhorn pastry sounds mighty tasty. Yes I've had my warm cup of cocoa. Maybe I need more sugar?? Happy birthday, Mom. I hope you're busy whipping up a cherry chip cake for brother Frank.

That is one big strudel. I will have to ask my friend Heidi about that. She grew up here, but her parents were German immigrants and her mom was a gingerbread specialist. She was invited to the Tonight Show.

Wow, 97 is pretty darn good! I am glad you had her for so long. A cherry chip cake sounds like something I need to learn how to make.
