Mother-In-Law Is Developing Some New Concerning Behaviors

United States

This Alzheimer's is progressing really quickly. Mother-in-Law is slipping rapidly. She now talks to herself all the time. Even when we're there to talk to instead. She mutters under her breath constantly. And she cut her own hair. This is not usual behavior for her. It doesn't look choppy or terrible, but we can't believe she did that. We go to the doctor with her again on Dec. 9th and will discuss these and other progressive signs.

@looeyville I'd be concerned about her having access to scissors. There's really no way of knowing what a dementia sufferer will do next.

I thought of that, too. She doesn’t need access to sharp knives, etc. either, or harsh chemicals. With her mother nd slipping so. Rapidly, you may be able to talk to the doctor to express your concerns and get her in to the Memory Care Center more quickly. She needs to be supervised. I’m so very sorry.
