For most of you, the countdown ends today, because you won’t know tomorrow’s song…and you’ll probably be surprised by the artist. But today’s song? Top ten music time! I think this will be blasted in the Jersey Shore….
#2: Feels So Good - Chuck Mangione
This song was so “right place, right time” for me. We were living in Daytona Beach, and I was out of school. This song was perfect for walking on the beach…or sitting on the beach…or walking on the causeway…or doing anything…or doing nothing.
“Feels So Good” was my introduction to “jazz fusion,” or “smooth jazz,” or whatever they call it. You see, I’m not a jazz enthusiast, so I can’t hear two notes and tell you what era and style it is the way I can with country music.
That doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy it, though!
Chuck Mangione was one of our music losses this year.
He recorded lots of good music in his career (and he even voiced himself on King of the Hill), but if this is all he’s remembered for, it’s a great song to serve that purpose.

Names and performers slide by, especially when you’re talking older songs. They “assume” that “everyone” knows who did the song that was popular 50 years ago.

Another one I didn't know I knew. Brought tears to my eyes. I don't know why.

I can understand that. I can hear this song and see the beach behind the hotel I worked at as a dishwasher when I was 17.
