Is the idea of "affordability" a con job?

Do you think about the cost of things before you buy them? Are you concerned about your finances and budget?
According to Trump "affordability" is a "con job by Democrats" that "doesn't mean anything to anybody". This was after his string of lies about how the cost of gas, eggs, groceries, Thanksgiving, etc. was way down. . . and don't forget the mathematically-impossible 800% decrease in drug prices.
So do you consider the price for things that you buy these days? Is "affordability" a con job? Do you just buy things willy-nilly? I mean I've seen people on this site post about why they won't buy an item because the price has increased by 20 or 30 cents. I've seen people post about going back to customer service because they were overcharged by like 15 cents. I've seen people post that they won't return to a restaurant because the price of tacos increased by a dollar or two.
I live alone and make a decent salary so yes I do buy things as I want them. That being said I do still consider prices. Just today I ordered a birthday present for someone. There was a window for delivery. The day I first selected had a $14 shipping fee. Nope. I widened it to get free shipping. Why wouldn't I? It doesn't have to be delivered on the exact birthday and I don't need to spend that extra money to make it happen.
I don't think that "affordability" is a Democrat con job. I don't think Republicans think that either. I think we all are keeping an eye on prices, our shopping lists, and our bank accounts. What do you think?

I consider the prices for everything. I’m very nervous about the cost of so many things, and I’m not sure what to do about it. Of course, some people will say it’s our own fault for “not planning ahead”. Well, I’m sure they also know where they can stick it.

That was very well said and it’s what I do as well. I am supporting an extra person and it’s very difficult. I don’t see an option. My son worked and it’s not his fault he can’t work now. There is no way I am going to let him be homeless. No one ever dreams that they will be completely without means to live on because of illness and a bad accident—you know that better than anyone here. We will get through this somehow. And like you said, anyone that thinks differently can literally stick it where the sun doesn’t shine.

You know he’s never lived in the real world. He has no idea how to survive in the real world.

We already know if trump is talking, he's lying. He can't seem to tell the truth even if that would be in his best interests. He HAS to lie...
Real people check prices and switch to generic products when they don't like the price of brand name stuff or don't buy anything at all.
