You Don't Need To Shower Daily

On yet a second post about showering, I was reading an article yesterday about people over age 65 shouldn't shower daily. It strips away their skin oils and rubbing vigorously with a towel could cause an abrasion. It suggested that once every other day showering was sufficient with gentle washing the day in between showers. Do you shower daily? My shower schedule depends on if I've worked out that day or not.

I saw a interview on The Today Show where the dermatologist said people should not shower more than three times a week unless they have a dirty job or do a really sweaty activity.

Most days yes. I don't rub my skin hard though.I like to be clean, plus I find hot water soothing.

@looeyville At 67 I shower every day. I enjoy taking a shower and putting on clean clothes - please don’t take that away from me.

I can't start my day without a nice hot shower. It helps get the blood flowing and I make sure to use moisturizer on my skin to keep it from drying out.

Ewww,I shower everyday twice a day, when I wake up and get ready for work and after work when I get home 9 hours later. I wouldn't be able to go a day without showering

When I was working, I showered like that, too. Now that I don't work anymore a shower every other day is fine with a washcloth and soap on the alternate days. I'm not doing anything to get sweaty or dirty.

It depends... If I'm going somewhere, I definitely shower before leaving the house. If I'm not going anywhere, a washcloth and soap are good enough.

I don't go out at all so I am clean and inside and I usually shower about once or twice a week also depending on how cold it is in the apartment since I don't want to get a bad cold,
