So, we have this stuff going on with my dad which is quite stressful, and yesterday I had two guys from a (local heating and cooling establishment..mistake) come and replace the unit. Well, I don't know if the second unit is defective or if there is a short in my system or something, but it was getting too warm in here yesterday, up to 74 when it was set on 60...say what? I had to flip the breaker because the unit wouldn't turn off. This is really disgusting..so anyway, I can't deal with them today, and the office person told me they are short staffed, and couldn't make it out today anyway, so Monday is the day..They should have made sure it was working properly, and not just on before they left.

Good grief. Can't believe that it didn't go well but hope it's not something major to fix

Have no idea..I better not get charged for a revisit when they didn't fix it right to begin with..

@Marilynda1225 Fingers crossed, who really knows? The thermostat was new in the box.

@snowy22315 I agree with you on that. Hopefully it just needs an adjustment

Oh my, I hope that you have another source of heat to stay warm.

Yes, I have a few good space heaters. I could always turn the heat back on if I needed to. I just don't want it going up high.
I think you misunderstood. It gets too warm in here, not that it doesn't work.

They tested that it was on, but not if the unit was behaving accordingly. The other thing I noticed after they left was a slight whistling sound in the air handler. That never happened before..

That's horrible to hear. I hope that eventually (sooner rather than later) they get your thermostat issues fixed!

No help before Monday .hopefully something can be done then and they don't have to "order a part" or something

I think they just didn't want to hang around. I suppose I could have asked more questions too.
