Our welcome to a Christmas dinner

It’s been quite a busy week here and last night was the Christmas dinner at the clubhouse. Our social committee did a marvellous job of feeding and entertaining over 100 residents.
The photo shows Santa and his helper welcoming guests at the door. I love the lady’s outfit but it does my head in. She is wearing a blow-up costume and it looks like she is sitting on Santa’s shoulders.
Santa has little gift baskets that are full of nibbles to have with the cocktails which we would soon be indulging in. We were given a roast dinner with options of one or all of three different meats, plus vegetables and accompaniments. Dessert was pavlova with fruit salad or plum pudding and custard.
The photo was taken by Vince.

A blow-up costume, huh? Why does the lady look drunk and Santa had to carry her to the party... Or home from the party?

Vince always takes good photos! 3 people like this

They had one on Melbourne Cup day. The guy looked like he was on a horse.

That’s super cute! Hope you’re having a great season!
It’s supposed to get down to 10F/-12C here later this week, and Looey and I would be happy to send you some “Christmas weather.”
