Wow, I hope those HVAC guys show up tomorrow

They were supposed to be here late tomorrow morning, but now I just notice a winter weather advisory has been issued. They are predicting roughly two inches of snow, but it will snow probably all day, so I am thinking we will end up with more than that. I did use the heat last night since it was quite cold, but I had to end up shutting down sometime during the night since it had gotten up to 72 when it was set for 65. It's not that big of a deal, I have a good space heater in my room...but want to make sure the pipes stay warm enough.

Yeah, I can understand why you want it to be taken care of. Hopefully, nothing gets in their way.

They have to show up in the first place. I know when I called Friday, alot of them had called in and they were short staffed.

After we got a bit of snow and some ice today, it got windy again, which to me makes it feel a lot colder. I really hope the repairman comes. They will often come immediately IF you have no heat at all, but sadly if yours is working part of the time, or working but not efficiently, etc. you are probably not at the top of the list of the most important ones to be taken care of. That sounds mean...one of my cousins and her husband own an HVAC installation and repair business and have for years. He says he has to do the emergencies first...but he has also been known to work half the night and do call-outs and keep his techs busy after hours, too...unfortunately, not all those businesses work like that now. Stay warm, Snowy.

I am guessing it isn't going to be a priority for them..

@snowy22315 I do know that most of those places prioritize people with no heat at all...but I also know it's a big worry for you, to see that thermostat has a mind of it's own. We are all trying to be conservative with our utilities, I know. I hope they get there tomorrow!

Some of us Aussies would be lost in the US. We never have to worry about pipes freezing.

It doesn't typically get that cold where I live, but there are times. It could happen.

If I had to guess, I would guess no, but I could be wrong.

It's always said when you know some 1 is to arrive but never expect them when the weather turns bad cause it's normally the way it goes & if they show up it's a nice surprise.

With cold weather it's important to be sure that the pipes stay warm.
