How strange.

I cashed out on my pay pal account and my husband's pay pal account.
Than we went to the grocery store and bought groceries up to the money we had in both checking accounts.
I told the cashier to stop at a certain amount and we will pay for the items. She did that and than said do you want to put the rest of the stuff back. She said that twice and started to take the items away.
I told her NO we are putting the rest on another debit card. She gave us really strange looks and started ringing up the rest of the stuff.
We have done that for years and no one acted likes she did in the past.
That was really strange to me.

Maybe she was a new employee? I’m not sure if it’s possible to have everything rung up and pay with two debit cards in a single transaction. I think the cashier assumed you didn’t want those items anymore and asked if the items to return them instead.

I had an odd interaction with a cashier not too long ago.

I’m wondering if she was new. Or, given this time of year, if she’s seen people trying to scam stores. Anyway, when you tell them you’re paying with two cards or have two orders, they should listen!
Sorry that happened to you.

Maybe no one had asked her to do that before

Sounds like a new cashier that is unfamiliar with different cards,

That does sound strange. Sometimes I tell the cashier I want to use two different cards. Its never a big deal.

She may have been fairly new and didn't realize someone might want to use a different card to pay for the rest of the stuff. At the least, she should have asked how you wanted to pay for the rest before starting to take it off the belt.
I agree, that was a strange thing for her to do.
I'm glad things went smoothly for you after that.
You could have let her ring everything up together and paid with the two different cards, too. It's not difficult to do that. I used to work at Walmart and had people who used two different debit cards or used a debit card and cash on the same transaction.
