Atmospheric River Delays

We finally got the septic system in, and of course an atmospheric river hits right after. Now one of the tanks is floating, parts of the ground are caving in, and there are little rivers running all over the property. My son sent the contractor photos, and he said they’ll have to pump everything out and reset it. They were supposed to finish covering the area with topsoil this week, but the weather just isn’t cooperating. So… one step forward, several steps back. At this rate, it’s looking like we’ll be spending Christmas in the travel trailers. I walked around the upper part of the property earlier, and within two minutes I was drenched like standing under a shower. One of the grow tunnels took some damage, but everything else up top here where the trailers are, is holding up. If you’re getting hit with this weather too, I hope you’re staying safe and warm. We have several rivers rising, hide tides, flooding, strong wind gusts up to 50mph, and very saturated soil that will uproot trees. I hope my truck can be picked up early afternoon tomorrow, since the next wave of heavy rain and winds will hit Wednesday. I’ll get a profile photo back up once they fix that bug. Dinner tonight was simple: diced chicken breast cooked with drained artichoke hearts, lots of seasonings, and red and yellow peppers, with protein mashed potatoes on the side. My son said it sounded like a weird combo, but he admitted it tasted really good. I told him I’m running out of ideas since he and my granddaughters seem to have developed an allergy to vegetables lately! Good night and good morning.

Wow! I would not like being in the travel trailers right now! I hope everything calms down quickly and the contractor can get the tank seated properly again. I hope your truck is ready, too. Good luck!

Oh, my! It sounds like a wet and soggy disaster and I'm sure no one wants to be outside in that. I'm just so sorry.
