Hubby Took My New Car Without Permission

Hubby wanted us to take my new car out this morning to get my allergy shots, get the car washed, and go to lunch but it was too cold outside for the car wash (has to be above 32 degrees).
He mentioned on the drive in HIS car that he would take my car back out by himself after lunch and get it washed. I said "No" three times but he didn't hear me / wasn't listening because he already had his mind made up.
I want to be the first one to drive my new car, not him. I want to be the one driving it when it turns 2,000 miles, not him.
But sure enough when we got home from lunch he got in my purse and took my key and took the car to get it washed.
I'm sure that in his mind he's doing a nice thing, but I'm sitting here on pins and needles thinking he's going to wreck it or something.
It's MY car!

He needs to learn to respect your boundaries. He sounds like the type who does what he wants, and doesn't feel he has to listen to anybody.

That's not exactly what he's like, but in his defense he DID think he was doing me a favor and being nice.

My first wife and I each chose the cars we wanted and bought them. She liked a white and gold Cadillac Seville. I chose a Dodge Daytona... She was always taking my car and then complaining about it. I told her she could drive the car she chose but she said it was too big for her. (I felt the same way about that Cadillac... It made me nervous to drive it. It was like cruising around in a boat... The front end stuck WAY out in front of you.)
You could take the key when he gets back and tell him not to drive your car again. But he may feel it's just as much his car as yours... Some people take marital property seriously. What we have is OURS, not yours or mine.

@looeyville I would be scared to even ask to drive my wife’s car.

I'm sorry he took your car. Hubby drove my car most of the time.

That does it: next time he falls, call an ambulance on him, no matter how much he protests!
