I just found out that Sophie Kinsella(aka Madelyn Wickham), one of my favorite authors and just a good, kind human being has died. She was the one who wrote the Shopaholic series, and many other humourous books. She was diagnosed with incurable Gliablastoma in 2022, and lived longer than most with the disease. I just checked on how she was doing a few days ago..and all I found out was she was undergoing treatment. RIP, dear Sophie. You will be so missed.

I read about this but was not familiar with her books. I am sorry she has passed.

I read one of her last books..What does it feel like...a reflection of her time after surgery and struggling to come to terms with what happened. As only she could she managed to keep a light tone for the most part in which most have been terrible despair. She had five children the youngest only 12. She did recover to a certain extent, only to have cancer steal her away again.

I was pretty disheartened when I read that this morning. It was amazing that she lived “so long” after being diagnosed. I mean, people don’t usually make it past a year when they are diagnosed (I think). I imagine every minute with her was precious.

Yes, if I was in that situation..I would ask God everyday for one more day. I think the hardest thing was not seeing her daughter grow up.

We've lost quite a few people this year. It's very depressing
