This is a traditional Christmas carol. It has a Welsh melody and dates back to the 16th century. It belongs to the winter carol “Nos Galan,” with English lyrics written by the Scottish musician Thomas Oliphant, 1862.
Deck the Halls is also a great holiday comedy starring Danny Devito and Matthew Broderick, where two neighbors are in a conflict with each other as one of them tries to overdecorate their house so it can be seen from space.
