1980 - 1999
During the 1980s and 1990s game shows were a low priority with the networks.
There were still a lot of game shows to pick from, however: Chuck Woolery hosted Scrabble, Jeopardy - Alex Trebek, Pat Sajak joined Wheel of Fortune in 1981; and Vanna White followed in 1982, Press Your Luck, Love Connection, a competition show - American Gladiators, Boggle, The Big Date, Shop 'til You Drop, Monopoly, Studs, Supermarket Sweep and Win Ben Stein's Money.
In 1999 Regis Philbin started hosting the very popular Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Jimmy Kimmel recently hosted a few episodes; but I haven't seen the show since.
To be continued...

I watched American Gladiators for a couple of years. I was working night shift at a furniture factory and the show was on before I fell asleep in the afternoon.

Since I'm a big game show lover I've seen probably most of those mentioned. I did enjoy the latest Who Wants To Be a Millionaire Celebrity edition with Kimmel. Celebrities played for charity and it was interesting to see which celebrities were smart and who weren't

I'm not saying this in a racist way, but have you noticed that most gameshow hosts now are Black?
