Hot and getting hotter

It’s been a scorcher here today and tomorrow is going to be worse. At 4.00pm, it’s 37C (100F) and tomorrow is supposed to be worse and with the risk of thunderstorms. This is our first week of such high temperatures. Yesterday there was several bushfires and the fire bombers (planes) were recalled to base when some idiot put up a drone. The planes won’t operate if there is a drone in the air. An open day at Government House was cancelled and the food donated to charities. At least it wasn’t wasted. We have a barbecue area in the village just across an interior street from us. There was a community barbecue planned for 2.00pm but it’s now been put back to 4.00pm because of the heat. The barbecue is gas but it’s still too hot to be sitting out in the sun. The photo shows the barbecue area.

The license to have a drone are very strict here, just because idiots can cause problems in case of fires. It's not too cold here, a warm December.

@JudyEv - Those who sell the drones should first ask to see the license, but surely not everyone respects the law.

We have rules here too but I think they need tightening up. I'm not sure how the authorities can catch these people.

That’s rather opposite here in the northern hemisphere where it’s getting cooler as winter is on some country. But on your side of the hemisphere it looks like summer on your place.

@JudyEv Its an interesting idea to think that December is always cooler in my place. I think experiencing summer on December would feel different to me.

Reminds me of the extremely hot days we have from April to July. However this year, we had good amounts of rain in between so the impact was there but in a moderated way. Yet what pinches us many times is the increased humidity.

Thankfully we don't often have high humidity. That can be a real killer.

It's funny sometimes how myLotters talk about snow and I'm sweltering.

100 degrees is much too warm. It's like being in Phoenix or Vegas. I hope you and Vince have a good weekend. Try and stay cool.

It's nice inside and we don't have much reason to go out so that's good.

It is going to be startling cold here the next couple of days, but by Thursday it will be 60...yay! Are you planning to go to the barbecue? Is it Christmas themed?

Vince has been up taking photos for a resident who had a family gathering in the clubhouse. He's not feeling so good so I think we'll just stay home in the cool. Yes, it's a Christmas get-together. They have one each Christmas.

It looks like there are no trees at all there and the heat is almost like boiling water, because I am in the equatorial region the maximum heat is only 34C.

The few trees do have a few leaves on them now but they don't give much shade.

I think private owned drones are often a hazard. At least the ones that can go extremely high.
