So we went to Newton for groceries and laundry. We had agreed we would go to Wichita to eat at Cracker Barrel for lunch. We like going there at least once in the Christmas season. However, Bob got a bit turned around. We both forgot the best way to get on the Interstate to go there. Instead we took Highway 50, towards Hutchinson. Both of us simultaneously remembered The Barn. We ate there once when it first opened. The food was very good. The decor is quite rustic. Bob says it is one of the best steaks he has had that he did not cook for himself. The rolls seem to have actually been made on site. So did the onion rings. Eating out is so expensive these days, it sure is nice when the meal is worth the money.
