Forks.

I ate well tonight in my favourite place in Chorlton, a Turkish place where the staff are better than excellent as is the food. A truly memorable evening. The only thing that introduced a less than savoury note was the thought that came unbidden to my mind as I was shovelling a lovely piece of lamb into my mouth - “I wonder how many other people have had this fork in their mouths?” The cutlery of course was super clean, but I still had the thought there in my head, just like when I wonder who else has slept in any hotel bed I’m about to occupy.

I'm glad you had a lovely meal. Now I will be thinking about cutlery the next time I'm in a restaurant.

I have a friend who takes her own cutlery to restaurants and sheets if she's spending the night somewhere besides at home. (If either look dirty to me, we leave.)

I confess that often I have this same kind of worries when I put a spoon or a fork in my mouth and it's NOT in my home. Same for a hotel bed. My niece brings with her a "hotel sleep sack" to avoid to sleep in their bed sheets.

@ladydick This is the sensible way to think.

@xFiacre - I know this often spoils the pleasure to eat at a restaurant, but I cannot stop thinking.

Sometimes, you think too much. Maybe take your own cutlery and your own sheets. That would fix it.
