Gotta Get The Car Inspected This Morning

There's a rule where if you buy a car from "out of state" you have to get the local county sheriff to "inspect" the vehicle before they'll issue a title, license, and tags for it.
I live in Kentucky. Indiana is one mile across the river. The car came from Indiana, so I have to have it inspected.
It's a money-grabbing joke. Some sheriffs just take their fee and give you an okay. Some sheriffs make you turn on every turn signal, every brake light, etc. You just never know which sheriff you're going to get.
We're supposed to take the car to the dealership at 10:30 am to meet the sheriff, but who knows how long it'll be before he gets there or how long it'll take. That's a chunk out of our day.

Hubby wanted me to consider the Mazda CX9 as well. I don't think the car lot had one or the price was higher or something. It's a good car too

@LooeyVille Yeah im happy with it, was able to get a 1.5% APR on the loan and the Mazda for life package so free tires and oil changes for life!

Does seem like getting the car inspected could be a hassle if you get an ornery sheriff. Guess each state has different inspection rules if you buy out of state.. Love your car!!

Our son in Ireland has just had his car inspected. I think all cars are inspected yearly or maybe it's only those over a certain age.
