I did a homebound for a student that went through to the end of the marking period. She was out for “anxiety”. As the end approached I asked the student if she was going to try to get back into school. She said yes. That was 6 weeks ago. Yesterday I received an email that her homebound had been extended and backdated to the start of 2nd marking period. I have to make up 4 weeks plus this week. But wait-there’s more! She is classified so she gets 2 hours per week instead of just 1. So she is currently owed 8 hours and then the 2 for this week. TEN HOURS. Okay fine I’ll get it done but her other teachers are going to be trying to catch up too. Logistically this is going to be a nightmare. I don’t understand why the mother waited 4 weeks to get the extension. This is going to be nuts.

Do you feel the student really learns anything via the computer? Or is the student just mainly goofing off?

The mother waited four weeks because she could. Good luck with everything.

That's a LOT of hours to make up. I hope it sort of goes smoothly.
