I wrote about this hours ago but either somehow it didn't post or it was deleted. Whatevs.
Susie Wiles, Trump's Chief of Staff, did 11 interviews with a journalist from Vanity Fair over the past year. Other admin members spoke to him as well. The article was posted in 2 parts though I've only read the 2nd one at this point. I will of course follow up to read the 1st half but HOO BOY the 2nd is a banger.
In it Wiles says that Trump has "an alcoholic's personality", Marco Rubio switched to supporting to Trump because he changed his opinions, JD Vance switched to supporting Trump for "political reasons", and Pam Bondi "whiffed" the whole Epstein files thing saying by giving out binders of nothing and saying that she had a client list on her desk. She also said that the repeated attempts to indict Leticia James "is probably retribution", that Trump should be more focused on domestic issues like AFFORDABILITY instead of foreign issues, oh and that Trump "wants to keep blowing up boats" to put pressure on Venezuela's Maduro to leave office.
Anyone who goes after Trump admin members automatically has a target on their back in his world. For Wiles to criticize Vance, Rubio, and Bondi is nuts. The most insane thing is that she described Trump himself as having "an alcoholic's personality". Like is she TRYING to get fired? (I wouldn't blame her if she was) Wiles was a key strategist for him, ran his most recent successful presidential campaign, and now is his Chief of Staff. She enables his insanity so I don't see her going anywhere anytime soon.
Still I'm shocked by the comments that were included in the half of the article that I've read so far. I don't disagree with most of them but I'm really surprised that she went there. I guess Susie Wiles feels very secure in her job. Of course Press Secretary Barbie flipped out and said that Wiles' remarks were taken out of context. Too bad that the interviews were all recorded.
Not gonna lie--I hope that she talked about Kash Patel and Kristi Noem in the first half!
Susie Wiles is probably very safe in her position. She's been a strategist, she was the campaign manager for 2024, and now she is the COS. Trump has no issue with firing people who piss him off. I think Wiles is pretty bulletproof no matter what she does though.

I have to tell you, I think we’re seeing a repeat of the last year of Woodrow Wilson’s presidency after he had the stroke (1919-1921), when his staff and wife were running everything behind the scenes. They drag iDJiT out for photo ops and he babbles like a 2-year-old (apologies to 2-year-olds who can do better). The fact that he hasn’t been golfing in six months shows how bad off he really is (more than anything, honestly, that is the telltale sign that he is in very bad shape: he’s not playing golf).
