How often do you check your bank balance?

I don't mean the mylot bank, but the real bank. I would say I check mine every 3 or 4 days to make sure nothing fishy is going on. I also check when I know deposits are going in. I check paypal though typically every other day or sometimes every day because I put cash deposits in it at least that often. PP has quite a healthy balance. I put the money in the real bank as needed.

Better safe than sorry, but one time I saw a transaction in there I didn't make. The bank convinced me to cancel my bank card, which of course was a real hassle since I had to wait for a new one, change my code etc. In the meantime the charge dropped off. I really kind of wish I had not cancelled everything..but I suppose better to err on the side of caution.

@snowy22315 - I know it's a pain to cancel the bank cards. I needed to go through that process when I was attacked in Miami and they stole my purse. I am glad I did, they immediately used my cards.

I know what you mean. I bet even if they could, most would skip on by.1 person likes this

Yes, you don't want to be stolen blind, or bounce a check or electronic bill pay because you were asleep at the switch.

Maybe once a week when I pay bills. I need to transfer more money out of my PayPal balance. I don't like to keep too much in that.

@LindaOHio It is tempting, but not after that experience.

@snowy22315 Oh no! I've heard a lot of bad things about Temu. I won't order from them.

I check ours probably every other day or as needed when we expect a deposit or withdrawal.

I checked all the boxes for numerous notifications from my bank. So they text me whenever I spend something and the balance goes down, they give me the exact current amount in there, and alert me whenever they see some strange charges coming from another state or country.
So I basically let them deal with all the paranoia for me.

Check about once a week. They text me if there is a large payment from a different area. But never had anyone trying to get into my account or make a charge.

Count yourself fortunate. You can get text alerts for every attempted withdrawal if you want to, but I haven't done so.
