Do what when you're bored and not super young?

First idea: take a couple of ibuprofen then find a Betty Crocker cookbook, put your glasses on and grab a magnifying glass so you can read the gingerbread people recipe. Part B of that idea: let go of what gingerbread people should look like. Grab any old cookie cutter you like and use that. Diamond shapes and squares and yes, wonky shapes eat the same. I promise. Second idea: cough up the big dough from your wallet, buy a bag of chips then go home and figure out where you hid the Scrabble board. Also figure out where a pen and real paper is- back of an envelope is fine. The paper is where you write up the points for who ever you are pitted against- husband, girlfriend, daughter, Mom. Doesn't matter. Maybe your bored neighbor? Third and final and worst idea for boring days: clean something. Toilet, human or cat. Shovel off a surface, large or small. Once its shoveled you get to pick up the mess you made on the floor and take that to the garbage can or maybe another surface?

How bored are you tonight? You could also read a good book or, if you can't real well anymore, there are several options available. There are YouTube channels where someone is reading different types of books or simply telling interesting stories. You could also ask YouTube for good documentaries about wildlife all over the world, both alive now and prehistoric. You can also watch/listen to YouTube videos talking about the newest findings about prehistoric humans or about how the world of man isn't just 300.000 years old but well over 1,000,000 years old and how a great flood divides us from those long ago times. I hope something in my rambling sounds interesting to you...

Have you read and maybe watched some of the Connections series by James Burke? Fascinating dive into history. The chapter from the Wind in the Willows, Dulce Domum, is wonderfully read by English scholars. Thanks for your thorough answer.

@sallypup No, I've never heard of the Connections series or James Burke. I'll have to look those up. You're quite welcome.

Great ideas here. Reading a favourite book or doing a jigsaw puzzle also work quite well.

When the weather is decent, I can get out and go for a walk, go explore something, hit up a thrift store or museum. When we finally get in the house, I'll have my own flex living room and I want an old sideboard or armoire to keep craft things in that I can do. I'm not super crafty but there are some things I can. I'll have a table for puzzles and a small shelf for books. I've been watching Youtube, occasional streaming, doing surveys, cleaning, and outside when i can be.
