How do you do your to do lists?

I am off to pick up my pain meds. It is on my to do list. Also on my to do list is picking up some Scotch and soup (done), checking my mailbox, and calling my brother (done, but he was "not home"). I have to teach this afternoon, but I only have four students, so I should be able to get my other stuff done before then. I hope to check my mail (if I don't get distracted by what's on the truck radio) and get those meds right now. I am hoping some documents are in the mail that I need to sell my old Nissan Xterra. But our mailboxes are raided often here, and nobody will do anything about it. It's an odd way to live. Anyway, this post is about to do lists. I send myself emails, with lists of what I have to get done. Do you do to do lists?

@2ndchances24 I no longer allow meds to be sent to me via mail. I always pick them up.

@TheHorse We've had that happen once till I told the mail people that our meds don't need to be in the mail box for some 1 to steal cause we can't get any more unless we pay for them & we don't have that kind of $ & to leave them at the p o & let us know to pick them up there & that did the trick but NOW they shut down the po in our town & moved so they HAVE to bring them to the house.

I sit at my PC, and I am surrounded by notebooks and pieces of paper. First of all, I have a notebook in which I write down per day everything that I plan on working on and writing up. Then I have a calendar notebook in which I write down exactly what I have done or completed each day. On the piece of paper, I jot down quick ideas before I check them out and then transfer them to one of the notebooks of something I want to write up.

@TheHorse We have strong winds with gusts up to 45 mph. My trashcan outside is over in the neighbor's yard now, snuggling with their trashcan. Everything is fine here, thanks.

Not often. I know what I need to do. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it waits to the next day.

Sometimes I would otherwise forget things like "pick up meds."

Horse, do you live in a neighborhood with a lot of crime, or is this just what happens routinely in California (having the mailbox contents stolen). I hope your pain meds are helping you.

Each Bay Area neighborhood has its own "crime pattern." Home invasion robberies are rare here, so my expensive guitars are safe. I have only been "jumped" once here, and I was able to escape with only a bruised skull and a bloodied hand. I was able to restrain the attacker. I feel totally helpless about the mail thefts. They are common, and nobody (including the USPS) will do anything about it. It is frustrating.

@TheHorse Because when I did do them, I'd pad the list with things like get up, have breakfast, etc. just so I could strike something off the list. I eventually realised how insane this was, so stopped doing it. And now I'm just gonna lie down and wait until my eyes clear up enough to read something.

I have a daily diary where I write down everything I need to do. If I get up early in the morning and I do not turn on my computer, I would miss the email.

I do lists from time to time but don't send myself emails. That's a good idea.

Yes, with my Cognitive Impairment, it's necessary to make lists and keep track
