Give a gift

If you have an opportunity, give someone the gift of a kind word.
Long story: our school had a number of young women who were pregnant, and having at risk pregnancies. Our music teacher was one of them. She had to be off work just as we were going into the holiday concert season.
The school called upon a retired music teacher. Mrs. Hancock. She is older, very strict, and very traditional. Not always popular with the kids, but she brings out the best in them musically for sure. It is a lot of work for her to help us out on a daily basis as well, until after Christmas.
I got to give her a "gift" though, last week. The young primary Christmas concert was the first week of December. All the last two weeks the second grade students in the class I worked in have been spontaneously singing the various songs from their part of the program. I got to tell her how much they were enjoying singing the songs while they worked. I think I made her day.

A lot of times we can make some one else happy with just a word.

I thought it would mean a lot to her and I think it did.

Always feels good to make someone else's day. How nice. I hope that the at-risk pregnant ladies remain okay and have the best of birth experiences.

The music teacher was induced. Her little one is adorable. All her health risks settled down after he was delivered. One is being induced Dec. 30, but has already traveled to stay at the high level hospital four hours away. The third one seems to be doing okay right now. The speech therapist had a scheduled C section because of a really bad delivery with her first baby.

It is, and it cost me nothing to do it, except a moment as we passed in the hallway.
