Christmas woes.

It wouldn’t be Christmas without a catastrophe, would it? I just got a message from one of my daughters telling me that my wife’s car has died. They’re in Belfast and there’s little point trying to get anything done at 5pm on Christmas Eve.
Fortunately the death took place at the apartment our daughter is staying in with the boyfriend and his family, so a toilet is to hand which is always a relief.
The boyfriend’s father is trying to resurrect the car and I hope he succeeds otherwise I’ll have to do battle with frantic last minute Christmas shoppers and drive to Belfast to pick her up.
Her car is 25 years old and maybe she’ll listen to me now and replace it.

Never a good time to break down, is there. I don’t know how expensive cars are in Ireland, but a new car here in America would now cost me more than I paid for my house when I purchased it in 1989. 
So I can understand the desire to keep the car, but I’d say, after 25 years, she got her money’s worth out of it!

@fourwalls Thankfully the boyfriend’s father got it started - one on the battery leads had worked itself loose! So she thinks she’s good for another 25 years.
