A Boring Christmas?

A boring Christmas day? Well, I guess it depends on how one defines that. We have our actual Christmas gathering with the fam, which we will be hosting at our house, on the 10th of January, so yesterday was just a "regular" day for us. I did get a couple of things done such as reworking some thumbnails on my YouTube channel and I finally got the front yard overseeded, which it really needs... What did you do for Christmas day?

We only had big celebration on Christmas Day until my Dad was still alive. From years we spend Christmas alone and Christmas it's just another day, the only difference more attractive food on the table and decorations.

@porwest - My husband has no family left, I have a brother who does not care of the family and my niece spent Christmas with her children, her husband and her in-laws up in the mountains.

@LadyDuck These days our "pool of family" has gotten smaller and more fragmented. For example, my aunts and cousins are in Milwaukee. My wife's family are also in Wisconsin, scattered across the state. So it's usually my mom, my dad and his wife, us, my sister, my brother-in-law, my sister's kids, my brother-in-law's mom and sister and her kids... So...it's different.

We still do our best to get the family together. Granted, these days things are much different than years past. But we make the best of it.

Yesterday, Thursday, I went to the beach with my construction worker friends and we started grilling fish and meat and today I started working again.

That sounds like a really nice time, and nothing like grilled fish.

Enjoy it with our family of four and watching Baekhyun's live included as one of the traditions for two years now. Baekhyun is a kpop artist, he is one of the mebers of EXO. I think for some it can be boring if they really don't know the meaning of Christmas. But for those who kows, it is always be a redemptive, full of hope and grateful hearts.

So long as you enjoy it, it can never be boring, at least to you.

I bet that was a really nice time. We did go over to my sister and brother-in-law's house on Christmas Eve for a visit with the extended fam and had dinner and did a little white elephant gift exchange. It was a good time.

Catching up is always nice. Maybe next year we will try to get back to Wisconsin and pay my wife's side of the family a visit.

The thing with our family is that typically on the actual holidays, no one is available to get together, so we always have our gatherings before or after the actual holiday when we can all get our schedules together.

I guess sometimes it's nice to have a little boring. Too much excitement can be exhausting anyway. lol

Same as I do every day worked on my PC. I love writing, creating, and researching, so I am always busy, In the evening I have taken to binge-watching one of my favorite shows, Frasier, and it amuses me,

Whatever time I have, I always try to make it as productive as possible. I don't always succeed. But it is at least the aim.

We did absolutely nothing at our house for Christmas Day, except relax, rest, and recover from way too much work leading up the holiday. We do our big family vacation next week for New Years, and so we'll kind of "celebrate" Christmas then once the family is all together.

I was in New Jersey. My boyfriend turned 50 years old on Christmas Day. We celebrated his birthday with cake and ice cream. His best friend was supposed to come by, but his friend's son was sick. We also opened presents.

Maybe its normal to think the christmas is boring. When you do things over and over again even if it is once a year., it becomes boring.
