One thing my son was able to do while he was here was replace some of the bulbs in the recessed lighting in the ceiling..even on a chair it is hard for me to screw in. Also there is one he switched around for better performance, because it wouldn't stay lit. I thought the bulbs I had purchased didn't fit, but they turned out to be fine..Bye, Bye dark kitchen! He has one more to do which has part of a broken bulb in it, but the circuit needs to be off for that

When a bulb breaks it's always a problem to get it out.

Yes, he'll get it though. He is incredibly handy. He replaced a broken part in the dishwasher, and put the stripping back in which should keep it from leaking and of course opened the closet door. We will have to replace the lock though..but that shouldn't,t be a big deal. Door knob sets are fairly easy to replace. We did it on the front door before. Of course he took the older printer out because I got a new one .etc Got my cordless vac going..

@snowy22315 I remember that I followed YouTube instructions to remove a broken bulb. Door knob sets are easy to replace. We disassembled an old computer yesterday afternoon and recovered what is still good.

It’s amazing how much difference new bulbs can make in lighting our homes. Glad to hear you finally got it done!

Yes, I am thankful, I can now see what I am doing out there. It was pretty hard with one and a half working bulbs.

@moffittjc LED's. They are the large size for recessed lighting.

@snowy22315 What kind of bulbs did you son install? Are they LED bulbs, fluorescent bulbs, or regular incandescent bulbs?

Ceiling lights and smoke alarms are my enemies. Your son gave you some wonderful gifts.

He did, plus a generous gift of cash, however, the best thing is that he came!

Kudos to your son. I have several things that need to be done...I'm going to have to call someone to come in.

Be careful if you want to replace it, try to wear sandals so that unwanted things don't happen. I hope this helps and I hope all the installations go well.

Oh, that’s great! I’m so glad he could get some things fixed. I cut the heck out of my hand once because maintenance had gone in my apartment without me knowing, and messed with a light, but broke it. They forget to replace the bulb, and when I reached for the light (it was too dark to see it was broken) my hand got all bloody. I marched to the office, told them to get their first aid kit to fix my hand, and to get up there and replace my light. I think I might have scared them into thinking I was going to sue them.

Yeah, me too. The light and closet problem were really annoying. My winter coats are in that coat closet. Luckily friend leant me some coatss..other wise I would have had to buy more which would have been annoying since I have a closet full.
