Is X a Scam?

I don't use X all that much. But here's the thing. I have 3,747 followers, so you would think if I posted something there, at least someone who follows me would see my posts.
The reality? Hardly anyone sees my posts. I am a virtual ghost. And when I do get a like, or even a comment?
It's usually a hooker, a porn advertisement, or someone who does NOT follow me.
So, the question is, why should I pay to be verified? Just to have my posts become more visible? But shouldn't my posts already be more visible based on who follows me?
I mean, maybe I would consider paying to be verified if right now at least 10% of those who follow me were shown my posts. Then it might make me see a sense of "value" to being verified and getting more exposure.
Before I buy a car, I want to kick the tires, take it for a drive and make sure everything is what I want and in full working order. If I have 3,747 followers and no one is getting what I post, it tells me the car is dead.
To me, that makes X a bit of a scam.

I signed up to Twitter, not X. It didn't seem worthwhile back then, I rarely posted anything, so I don't know if I still have an account, let alone any followers.
