Do they still make land line phones? Mine has finally died. I may visit Target today in search of a new "old school" phone with an answering machine.
I hope you are having a glorious Sunday. I am now calling all of those who tried to leave message at my house but could not.

Have you considered transferring the voice message to your phone by playing the message and recording it on the phone? You might also be able to plug a jack into your answering machine and the other end into a laptop or your phone.

@DaddyEvil That would be too "technical" for me.

Yes, Target still sells a very few landline phones.
I've been busy today but I'm about ready to take a nap this afternoon.
We have high winds and rain right now as well as quickly dropping temps. (We started the day at 65F, rose to 70F by noon and are dropping to 39F by 5 pm with the temp dropping to 28F by morning.) It's 1 pm now and the temp is 59F outside.
I should get dressed and go catch our trashcan. I hear the wind playing with it now.

I have a home phone connect, which is technically a cell phone, but you can use old school phones with it and it plugs into a regular phone jack. It comes in handy sometimes, like when Iose my regular cell phone I will call it with that, or I used to use it for mystery shopping if I needed to vary my number or today, I had to call the cell phone company and couldn't do it from my phone.

I've been researching phone plans lately and have found that several companies do have land line service still. AT&T does and Sparklight that we have here locally. Are you having phone issues?

Yes, luckily, they do still make landline phones, even though they feel a bit old school now as you mentioned. With smartphones around, landline phones have lost their shine. I believe you should be able to find one at Target, especially models with an answering machine. Those phones are still surprisingly reliable and useful. It’s funny how we only realize how important things are once they stop working. Hopefully you’ll find a good replacement without much trouble. Catching up on missed calls can feel like a task, but it’s nice to reconnect. I’m sure people will appreciate hearing back from you. Sundays are perfect for taking care of little errands like this. Wishing you a truly glorious and relaxed Sunday as well. Take care!

Old school landline phones are slowly being phased out. Most people only have cell services, and cell phones. And, companies like ATT, have started discontinuing support for landline service. It's rare to see it still in existance.

I hope you found one. We haven't had one in a very long time

I have no idea because I don't even have a mobile phone. When the old phones were still around, I had one in Latvia, but my favorite was back in NYC with Mom. It was a regular phone that looked like Garfield the cat and when it rang and you picked it up, his eyes opened.

We still have a land line but many of our friends have ditched them and just use their mobiles.
