Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 32 degrees F and dark here at the Jersey Shore. The high for today is just 35. It is going to continue to be windy today. Ugh. I have the heat cranked up.
I was up at 4am this morning. 
I was so happy to turn off the morning alarm on my phone and I'm awake even earlier than normal. Insanity. I'll be back to bed eventually I'm sure.
I had plans to go to Trader Joe's and go tanning today but we shall see what happens with the sleep situation. I'm not trying to go there in the afternoon because the place gets nuts. It is crazy. They did a survey about a large piece of land here and what residents wanted to see there. The #1 store requested was Trader Joe's. Yeah--nope. We are getting a coffee shop right across from Dunkin and a chicken place (Popeye's I think) right across from Roy Rogers. Great choices! Way to expand availability of items for local residents!
So the plan is to stay in and stay warm today. I'm sure I'll get up to something in the kitchen. I also am going to continue to clean the carpet. I hate carpet. My downstairs neighbor was all pissy when I was doing it last night at 9pm. Oh you don't like the noise? Maybe tell your son to STFU instead of screaming at his online games when I'm trying to sleep.

The son and I have been trying hard to have a normal sleep pattern. It's better than it was, but it just doesn't seem to happen for us on a regular basis. So that sometimes turns into naps that have to be taken or else we don't function. Very frustrating.
I HATE carpeting. I always have. The main part of my home--living/kitchen area, hallways, bathroom are all a type of laminated wood and easy to sweep and mop. The only carpet is in the two bedrooms. And it's still too much carpet.

I have a big rug in my living room, yes. But as you say, not wall to wall carpeting!

Whole lotta nothin’. I’ve had lunch, I’m going to run by the grocery store, then it’s home for hot tea and shredding some old things.

It's cold and very windy here today. No plans for me except the usual stuff to do around the house and figuring out what to make for dinner (the daily dilemma).

Sounds like a brutally cold and windy start at the Jersey Shore. Turning off the alarm only to wake up even earlier is one of life’s little jokes. I too had my share of that one. Staying in and keeping the heat up sounds like the smartest plan for a day like this. Trader Joe’s in the morning is definitely the only tolerable option, so I don’t blame you for hesitating. The store choices you’re getting do sound frustrating—another coffee and chicken place doesn’t exactly help anyone. Kitchen time on a cold day can actually be pretty comforting though. Carpet cleaning is productive, even if your neighbour isn’t thrilled about it. It is understandable though. Noise complaints always seem to work only one way, unfortunately. I hope you manage to rest a bit later and have a warm, low-stress day. Enjoy the day!
