Because of course he knows better than the people who have actually gone to medical school, right?
There has been all sorts of speculation about Trump's health over the past year. He's had at least 2 "annual physicals", a CT scan for unknown reasons (which was previously reported as an MRI), multiple cognitive exams, etc. He can't walk properly, one side of his face droops, he falls asleep in televised meetings, he has swollen legs (described as chronic venous insufficiency), the tops of his hands are constantly bruised (which he tries to cover up with makeup and/or bandages), etc.
While his physical decline is obvious it is the bruises on his hands that get the most attention. The White House tried to blame it on Trump constantly meeting with people and shaking their hands. That was laughable. Now they are saying that he takes aspirin daily for heart health. Yeah but the recommended preventative dose is 81 milligrams. Trump takes 325 milligrams.
There is absolutely no beneficial effect in terms of cardiovascular preventative health to take 4 times the recommended amount. He claimed yesterday that he didn't want "thick blood pouring through (his) heart". Aspirin doesn't even thin the blood--it just helps to prevent clotting which is why he is supposedly so bruised.
The handshake excuse is lame. Even blaming it on aspirin is dumb. My best guess is that he is receiving some kind of IV treatments. I'm surprised that his doctors wouldn't administer it to him in a less obvious place though.

That might be the only place they can find a vein, though. I have tiny veins that run, so they occasionally have to use my hand. It’s just that they should get a pro who’s not going to blow a vein or leave a bruise.
Interesting thing: my doctors told me I was heart healthy enough to not need a daily aspirin.
I’m still trying to figure out how his wounded-by-a-bullet ear healed so completely and magically while his hands are a mess from an “aspirin.”

My veins roll and are deep and awful for nurses to try to stick. They've had to bring in some kind of vein finder light, they've called "high tech" (whatever that is), and it is still awful. After my stupid accident after being unsafely discharged from the hospital I had to appear before the superintendent. It was spring so I was wearing a short sleeved polo. Admin saw all of the bruises from the week-long stay in the ICU and IVs. They said I had track marks. Um. . . they knew I had just spent a week in the ICU and I sure as hell wouldn't have shown up in short sleeves if that was the case.

But you have to admit he's doing a lot better than many people of his age, or even younger!
