I don't even understand how the garbage got so overloaded. I suspect it was from the cleaning lady clearing out the freezer. I live on the 3rd floor and no there is no elevator. It is always a balancing act between not wanting to rush out to the dumpster but also not having a crazy-heavy bag.
Yeah that was not the case today. I didn't even try to double bag it. I just tied up the bag and brought it down inside the kitchen garbage can. It was really heavy and I'm not as strong as I used to be. I just took the tortoise mindset and did a few steps with it at a time. A car came by while I was 3/4 of the way there and a young man asked if I needed help. I said yes. He carried it to the dumpster, dumped the garbage, and brought the can back to me.
It was so kind of him to stop and help me. I don't even know if he is a resident here or an Uber or delivery driver. I could have gotten the job done on my own but I'd likely still be out there working on it. I really appreciate the young man's help. His parents did a good job.
