A song associated with Old Hollywood actress Marlene Dietrich. She sings a German love song that was popular during WWII among both Allied and Axis troops. The poem was written in 1915 and the song in 1937. Her song and the photos of her with the soldiers really are heartwarming. She had a long and blessed life, dying in Paris, France, at the age of 90.
For anyone interested, in 2005 a 7-CD set, Lili Marleen on All Fronts, or Lili Marleen an allen Fronten, was released with nearly 200 versions of Lili Marleen with an 180-page booklet.

@FourWalls as much as I love old films and old songs, not for my wallet. I keep to what I can get on YouTube, but I am sure they are worth it if one buys them.

@RasmaSandra — yes, they’re expensive. I could have paid my house off earlier if I hadn’t bought so many.

@RasmaSandra - Most of the time we only watch old movies, they are so much better than modern movies.

@LadyDuck for the place I write articles, I am going to start a series on the best movies of Old Hollywood actresses; I find many of the old movies fascinating.

I'm familiar with another of her songs, "I Can't Give You Anything but Love". She was a fascinating person.
