the existence of another world

I shall be honest. I wasn't expecting you to be here. Five and a half years is an absolute age, and I {wrongly, as it transpired} assumed that you would all have disappeared into the deepest, darkest regions of the 'net, swallowed up by the AI which seeks to control us. Yep, but nope. Here you are. Still here. Still here, in your little corner, asking questions, seeking assurances, forming opinions, cracking jokes, arguing, supporting one another and - quite simply - just continuing to be you. It's actually rather nice. Since I've been gone, we've lived through a shorter Covid lockdown, seen Trump relinquish power and then return, lost a Queen, gained a King, lost a Prince, seen Russia invade Ukraine, helplessly watched Israel starve Palestinian children, swooned at the attractive young men in Bridgerton, potentially lost John Wick [*spoiler*], lost the ability to distinguish between reality and AI, and now the UK has only bluddy been invaded by illegal immigrants arriving in their millions on boats from France. That last one isn't true, however much Reform would like you to believe it is. On a far more personal note, I am still being underpaid and undervalued in the same role I've had for fourteen years. Every year, the students are different, but every year, the students are exactly the same. I am still married. To the same husband. Our kidney is still plodding along bravely, although she did give us a little scare last year. I had a breast cancer scare, but it was nothing. I do now have a teeny-tiny [metal?] marker in my right booby. Oh, I broke my face whilst having a quarrel with a gravelly car park in Wales. It's mostly healed now, except I have a deviated septum, which is a tad annoying at times. Gosh, and Dora the Fickle Cat passed away last August. Bless her little furry paws. I have missed you. I have missed writing. I only read two books last year. I miss reading. So, for 2026 my resolutions [which I don't normally make] are to write more and read more. And that's my existence in a nutshell. Boring. *waves*

I am rather surprised this site is still up and running myself. It has its hiccups and problems but keeps on ticking away. I hope it will for a long time to come too for I would miss it so. Am glad to hear all your health scares were not serious. I keep researching odd subjects and posting about them. Have started a Victorian Era series most recently. My existence is pretty boring so I won't go into it. Hope to hear more from you on here and that you enjoy your time on Mylot.

Hello! I am still here and I am so glad to see you back. A lot happened in the past five years. Ten months we moved from Switzerland to our native country (Italy). We sold our big home and we live in a very pretty and comfortable apartment. As I am no more young, it's much better. You had some unpleasant things happening on your personal note, but I am glad you are well. I am sorry for your cats, we love them dearly. I will be happy if you will show up here in myLot more.

Welcome back! I seem to remember your name on myLot but can't, for the life of me, place you. You will find that a lot of people have left myLot but some new ones have arrived. I hope you can find people you like interacting with now and enjoy your time here.

@poppylicious You’ve been a busy lady. As for me, I retired to a small, dismal town, got four false teeth and started growing potatoes. And I cooked Kleftiko for Christmas dinner.

Oh! Good to see you back. This place remains unchanged and the active community members still continue to be warm and friendly. So much happened in your end. And you survived and came out stronger than before . Sorry about the loss of your fur baby.

Gosh, have you been away that long? Happy new year, by the way.
