Thanks to the actions of the Brooklyn Center Police Department who were near a service station on the evening of Tuesday December 30 when an electric vehicle (EV) that caught fire while the EV was filling up at the gasoline pumps, a potential tragic event was stopped. The Brooklyn Center Police Officers managed to move the EV away from the gasoline pumps and away from underneath the canopy to prevent an explosion, Firefighters from the Brooklyn Center Fire Department came to the scene of the incident by using a special fire blanket and a device called "The Turtle" which is like a huge sprinkler to cool down the battery packs underneath the EV. The time for the fire to be put out was around 2.5 hours and use 30,000 gallons of water. Thank goodness no one was hurt in the incident. Link is msn.com/en-us/news/us/,,,

I guess that vehicle is not EV but a hybrid vehicle since it still needs gasoline to run. Pure EVs usually do not need gasoline anymore just needs to be recharged every now and then. Hybrids on yhe other hand still needs to be filled up with gas then is ran by ICE and electric motor which is charged internally by the engine then switches to electric motor when fully charged.

I've heard that these EV fires are very difficult to put out.

The fires from EVs are put out since some vloggers share the fires on You Tube.

That is a lot of water to put out a car fire, and I wouldn't want to have to pay the bill for so much water usage. Let's hope the local Government picked up the tab for the water.

I hope so as well since electrical autos I would like to own but the horror stores turn me off.
