Marketing nowadays often seems to involve combining different things in the hope of increasing their appeal. For example, what do little girls like? Ponies, long hair, pastel colours… let’s put all those together! Result, ‘My Little Pony’ toys, pastel-coloured plastic ponies with long hair. What do little boys like? Vehicles, robots, superheroes… put all those together and create ‘Transformers’ toys, which can convert from one to the other. Now they seem to have turned their attention to more general consumers and thought about what people do in the mornings – answer: have a shower, eat cereal… put those together and get cereal-scented shower gel!! No thank you. I’m happy with soaps and suchlike scented with flowers or fruits but I don’t want to walk around smelling like a bowl of corn flakes. How about you? Cereal scented shower gel has no interest at all. Same as you, I am happy with soaps, and shower gels scented with flower and fruits, some herbs are fine, but not many, cinnamon scented are good.

I agree... I use grapefruit scented shower gel/scrub and my shampoo/conditioner smells like grapefruit, too. (Female friends who hug me say they enjoy the scent.

) Male friends who hug me don't say anything.

Maybe the male friends can't even smell it? A sense of smell seems to often be better in females (among humans at least) and certainly my partner has a very poor sense of smell.

@Fleura I honestly don't know. I can smell things Pretty can't. (I can tell when it's that time of the month but she can't smell the blood and gets angry if I mention it.

) I think it's just a male "thing" where we don't say anything if it embarrasses us. I often don't mention what I can smell when around other men or some of my female friends.

@DaddyEvil Yes I can't imagine your male friends saying 'Oh you smell nice!'

On the other hand I know my partner isn't just saying he can't smell things out of embarrassment, he just genuinely can't.

I loved My little Ponies when I was little. lol I tried to get some Native body wash that was in the scent of doughnuts, but my mother wouldn't let me saying she doesn't want to smell like doughnuts. She doesn't use body wash anymore so I may have to try that doughnut one.
