Have you ever gotten back into an old hobby?

Have you ever gotten back into something you did years ago? Art? Writing poetry? Making cheese sandwiches? Watching Korean soap operas? Veteran MyLotters will remember that I enjoy making coasters out of acoustic guitar soundholes. If you ask, guitar manufacturers like Martin and Collings will send you the raw circular cutouts from guitar tops that were otherwise headed for the dumpster. Yesterday, as I was throwing away ancient papers, I came cross a really nice pair of coasters I had made years ago. I put them on my stack, and then flashed on the fact that I had a pair in my kitchen that I had started work on, but never finished. I put a new coat of polyurethane on the kitchen pair, and will try to finish them up (with felt bottoms) over the Winter. Do you have any old hobbies that you are thinking of getting back into?

Oh, how funny you should ask that! I got out candle making supplies last night and made a batch of new candle wicks and cleaned jars for candles. I'll make some candles when I have extra time. I miss burning candles and making the house smell like honeysuckle or lavender. I hope your coasters turn out well.

I remember you making these. I might do some more crochet one day once I decide what I want to make.

@JudyEv It makes sense. Passing time. Limited materials necessary.

@TheHorse My nephew's partner (a male) crochets. Apparently quite a few sailors do too.

None I can think of now but I do have a cabinet full of crayons and coloring pens and adult coloring books but just have not had the urge to get around to enjoying it all, Guess I should,

Yes! Creating notebooks. So I am busy cutting and stitching papers, lol! And I also buy a lot of rim papers, and other tools for notebook making.

Of course I remember that you enjoyed making coasters. As I have more time now, I am back painting and sewing, those are things I always enjoyed to do. Painting does not mean pictures to hang, I am making painted bookmarks right now.

Do you have pictures of your work? Painting is satisfying. Even painting logs on a cabin.

I'm considering going back to SCUBA diving. It was a huge part of my life for 15 years, but I gave it up 11 years ago after a few years of not being able to do very much due to family stuff.
