Unexpected Uses of Hairspray

I was surprised to learn just how useful hairspray can be. Not only is it good for helping with the perfect hair do but it has some interesting uses around the house too. Here are a few: * A coat of hairspray on that pretty bouquet can make it last longer. Coat the flowers and let them dry 10 minutes. Repeat this process twice before putting them back in the vase. Give them another quick spray a couple times a week. * You can also preserve dried flowers by drying them upside down in a cool, dark park for two weeks and then spray them. * Remove sticky residue from stickers using a thin layer of hairspray. The alcohol will break down the stickiness in about 10 minutes and then it can be wiped away. * Tighten a screw by spraying some hairspray after first screwing it as tightly as you can. * Spray the soles of your shoes with a layer of hairspray to add necessary traction. * Spray curtains that accumulate dust with hairspray and dust is less likely to stick to the surface. * It can prevent pencil art from smudging. Also, it can keep handwritten letters and recipes from fading. * You can also stiffen thread with it to make it easier to thread it through a needle.

These are some good tips. I like the idea of putting hairspray on the soles of my shoes. I am going to get a can the next time I go to the store.

I didn’t know hairspray could be this useful. I don’t really use it, so I never gave it much thought, but I actually learned something from this. Thank you! Some of these tips are surprisingly practical especially for household use.
