Light and shadow

It's only 6 pm and I have had a good enough evening meal. I'm grateful for the cheese, crackers, little vegetable dumplings and apple cider. I'm looking at the shadows cast by the wooden stairs that lead upstairs. I wish I could draw that symmetry.
Rufus dog and I drove to the Vet for Beau Teak's meds this morning. First we went to a gas station cause my little car was peddling on fumes. $2.99 for a gallon of gas.
Got to the Vet's clinic. Beau Teak is now on steroids as well as a water pill. He has slowed down on eating. His heart just thumps. The Vet hopes this latest pill will help fight inflammation in Beau and give him a happier time.
Shadows. I prefer dim light to glaring eye popping glare. But that's me.
The last couple of days of outrageous atrocities committed by ICE is impacting my ability to stay upbeat. The Peace monks are delightful to keep track of, though. May their message be a balm to all the hurtful fellow Americans out there.

There’s still a lot of good in this world. I get to see it on Mylot. I do admit I don’t watch the news as much as I used to. My favorite is our morning news that has a segment each newscast about three positive things picked by two news anchors and the weather person. I love that segment.
Give your fur babies my well wishes, please!

@AmbiePam You're right and thanks for being one of the lights in my world. I've that part of your morning newscast. The BBC also has interesting and upbeat segments. Then there's Rick Steve's programs about traveling fascinating parts of the world.

I hope it helps Beau Teak feel better.
It's a very sad time we live in.

Gas is $2.28 a gallon here right now. We need to fill the car next time we go anywhere. (A tank of gas usually lasts about a month since we only drive around town unless we have a specialist appointment in Springfield or Joplin. Then the tank of gas goes quickly. A quarter tank to drive to either of the big cities and home again.)
Poor Beau... Please give him a hug for me.
We have blackout curtains through the house. My eyes are too light sensitive now unless we HAVE to go out somewhere.
I can't believe a woman lost her life because she was heckling ICE agents.
