Things and people aren't always what they seem

Various articles are always popping up on YouTube and Vince brought one to my attention the other day. He called me in to listen to an attractive young girl with a beautiful singing voice. He’d been listening to a few of her songs. After I left him to it, he tried to find out a bit more about her.
He was pretty stunned to discover she was AI-generated and geared at helping people learn English through music! You may know of her/it already but it was new to us. From being somewhat smitten with her, Vince now thinks she is a great disappointment!
The name, or maybe I should say the site is LoFi Lulla if you’d like to have a look for yourself.
The photo is of the dance band Vince used to be in. You’ve seen it before. The two other men have since passed away and we’ve just learnt that the pianist now has Parkinson’s.

The world is getting scary, everything can be scammed and faked using AI.

@JudyEv true, that is why even investigation is hard, because they need to do a lot of filtering if the videos and photos are tampered.

They had a lot of fun in the band. The other two men were brothers.

I have become so skeptical of everything I see or read or hear on the internet, because chances are now that it is AI-generated information. AI is not always a bad thing, but I wish there were requirements that stipulated anything generated by AI had to be labeled as such.

@JudyEv Now you have to take the extra step of researching and verifying everything you see or read nowadays, in order to know if it is true or fake.

I think that some of the places that AI shows up is rather odd. But I guess it is easier for folks who have good ideas to make them reality.

AI 'people' have their place I'm sure and they're here to stay. We'll just have to get used to it.
.
Yes, Vince is playing drums. Do you like his sideboards (facial hair)? They were all the fashion back then. Here's another photo of them.

@changjiangzhibin89 A lot of people here have beards and/or moustaches. They weren't in fashion once but they're quite popular again now. Just as many shave their heads.

I hadn't come across that before. When I looked for it, I found the channel that says 'Experience the magic of AI —where virtual artists bring every song to life with passion and precision.
We blend classic covers, calming melodies, and lyrical beauty to help you improve pronunciation, grow your vocabulary, and fall in love with English—one song at a time.' There were no actual videos though, they just showed a picture with the song playing.
But then I was even more confused because below, in the video section, songs come up in other languages. For example there is one which I think is in Urdu, but nevertheless below this it says 'Today on LoFiLulla, we’re singing and learning English with “Main Tera Shehar Chhod Jaungi” even though it is not in English. And elsewhere Lofilulla is described as a prominent Pakistani singer. So has the AI system just 'adopted' another singer who happens to have the same name?

lol I was fooled by a story about a girl in a talent show. It was an AI generated story. Then my mother was fooled by one too.

I don't like the fact that we can be fooled by AI.
Sorry to hear the news about Vince's band members.

@JudyEv For sure. Even if you see news footage of something, who knows if it's real?

Unfortunately nothing will ever go back to normal and yes, it is very sad. It would be okay if AI was used for good but too many use it in the wrong way.
