Police officers rescue a teen who fell into an icy pond in New Jersey

Thanks to the alert actions of neighbor who witnessed a 13 year old boy who fell into in an icy pond in Woolwich Township New Jersey on Saturday one week ago who called 911 to report the incident. ' Woolwich Township Police Officers with the help of Logan Township and other first responders worked together to at first use a rescue rope to rescue the boy but since his hands were too cold to grab the rope, Sergeant Joseph Rieger first crawled on the icy pond in an attempt to rescue the boy. When the police officer fell into the icy pond, Corporal Steve Spithaler and Patrolman Michael Scambia entered the icy pond in an attempt to rescue the boy which was successful to rescue the boy and take him to shore safely.
