I hadn't thought about this, but it makes sense--
Do you suffer from ongoing headaches, dizziness and even shortness of breath? These seem to come on for no apparent reason.
Old homes can have black mold and bacterial odors. This is especially true in basements, bathrooms and bedrooms. The pollutants can embed themselves in the walls, carpets and even furniture.
This can cause infections and neurological disorders. This can irritate the lungs and damage your immune system. (Bronchitis and asthma sufferers beware!)
Studies show that black mold is present in nearly 100% of all homes tested. Only 17% of residents realize the seriousness of this.

I know people have suggested black mold for my migraines, but despite my apartment being a vague semblance of hell, I don’t have any black mold. They did once in a different apartment a long time ago. It was a big production to get it fixed too.

If they had it in a different apartment it could be in yours too.

My relatives and myself had to move out of our home three years ago due to the mold inside of the home due to Hurricane Laura.

Those hurricanes cause a lot of damage like this. How awful for you.

Yes, I knew about it and they tested for it when they were doing the remodeling here this past summer. We don't have any black mold but I still get dizzy for no apparent reason.
I was dizzy this morning and fell in the hallway between our bedrooms. At least I fell on carpet so wasn't hurt. Pretty brought me a Meclizine tablet and that stopped the spinning feeling.

Thank goodness you weren't hurt. People get up too quick sometimes and don't give their blood time to circulate through the body. This makes them faint. I have talked to the kids about this because they seem to have a lot of dizziness. Getting up slower seems to have helped.

@celticeagle Thank you. I try to grab doorways or doorknobs or furniture when I'm falling. Once, I grabbed the fish tank and then let myself fall instead. That would have been a huge mess if I'd dragged the fish tank down with me.
When I wake up, I try to just sit on the edge of the bed until my head has stopped spinning but, sometimes I need the restroom too badly and HAVE to start moving right away. Usually, I can hang onto the wall and doorways until I get there without falling.

I like older houses but that one aspect can make them a health hazard.

Haven't been outside since the start of the summer and I am doing all right in my little apartment. The house is a two story wooden structure with no modern anything, but it seems to be a good place to live.

If you do start having any symptoms, you might want to have the place checked out.
