Sunday wasn’t a fun day

When Friday came around, I started thinking about what to do Sunday. I wanted to go somewhere and do something fun to cheer myself up.
Then I found out from my mom that Sunday would not be a fun day for me. Instead of having fun, I’d be attending a funeral.
My cousin’s dad passed away, which I found shocking. He was 80 years old.
Everything was happening today. The funeral home, the cemetery and the restaurant. While at the event I started to miss my dad who is no longer here. And I started to miss my husband as well. Currently, he’s that only on paper.
It was definitely a sad day, but on the bright side, I got to see my relatives that I haven’t seen in a while. I wonder, why does it take the passing of someone to get everyone together under one roof?

He doesn’t keep in touch with me.
Only if there’s a need. He did wish me a happy birthday, thankfully. I wasn’t even sure he would do that.

@lovebuglena So there’s not really talk of marriage counseling that might reunite you two?

Sorry for your loss. This Sunday too my wife paid a visit to the wake of her youngest sister in the afternoon and I accompanied her.

Thank you. Same to you. Crazy how people go unexpectedly.

@lovebuglena That's life anyway. That's reality.

@Nakitakona Doesn’t make it easier though when our loved ones pass. My dad passed away in 2022. He didn’t make it to his 71st birthday.

It is a lesson we get on repeat. We wait until it is too late and do not appreciate people while they are here.

People seem to be too busy for others sometimes.

That is true in every country, I guess, that once someone passes away, the whole family gets together, but I think that is also a blessing that everyone is giving their support and comfort.
Sorry about your loss. I know there are no right words for this.

People should make an effort to get together on normal days. It’s important. Especially since no one knows how long they have left on this planet.
