which is better, where do you think you would be more happy and comfortable.
lately there have been leaks on our house roofs. have them all changed to new ones. like 15 roofs . but still waiting for rain to come to see if it already fixed the leaks after the repair. that's one problem with living on a residential house. have to maintain it on good condition.
no experience living in a condominium yet. but usually condominiums here are just steps away to malls and other commercial areas. very convenient though. but iit might feel, living in a small space can be boring and limiting and like living in a box in an average size condominium space.
seems there's this good and bad to each

It depends where. We sold our individual house to move to an apartment. The building is small and only 4 very quiet families live here. We have no one on top of us and we only share one wall with the neighbors. We hear absolutely nothing, it's as quiet as it was our house, but so much more comfortable and a lot less fixing to care about.

you transferred to an apartment already. you downsized then. it's great that you don't worry about having to do big repairs. it's stress free then.

@hotsummer - My husband health is not good and we are no more young. I did not want to take care anymore of a very big house and a garden and to have to do everything myself. I am very well where we are now.

@hotsummer - We are only my husband and I and this apartment is more than big enough for us. It's so peaceful here, so quiet. There is a forest behind our apartment and a small private road to drive here. No traffic, no noise, no pollution.

My sister had a condo with a roommate when she was in college, and it was an adorable one, complete with small backyard. She was happy there. But, as soon as she could buy a house, she did. The house wasn’t as nice as the condo, but she liked having her own house more.

yes condo indeed looks beautiful and cute. but indeed having a house can be better in some ways despite the extra work for the repairs. but then houses there in your country is different though. so that's why she liked having a home better as I think you have more beautiful residential houses there.

@hotsummer The house wasn’t as nice as the condo. The condo was in a better neighborhood. However, the house was bigger, and had a garage.

@AmbiePam yes having a garage is a big help. and those extra space gives a lot of advantage to store a lot of stuff.
if only I could afford it, I'll buy a condo without giving up the house we have now. I can just rent it out to others if I don't want to use the condo anymore

I would say house! No to condo, but if you are immune to live in a CONDO that is good.
For me, living with a live community is better especially when you are building a family it is more healthier, I think.

Have you ever lived in an apartment? Condos are apartments you own, just like a house except your neighbors are right through the wall from you. You hear their arguments, their celebrations and their music, whether you want to hear it or not.
I prefer a house so nobody is right beside me and, while I still might hear them, at least there is more than one wall between us.

i haven't lived in apartments. i don't like noise or being too near my neighbor. but residential houses here have no easement. not as quiet as I want it to be but still maybe quiter than in condo's

I can see myself in a condo when I'm older, I only bought a house to make my kids comfortable. once they are off to college me and my wife are looking to downsize

it's enjoyable living in a house specially with kids or when you have big family or even relatives just next to your house. but if not, yes, it's good option to be in condo.
great that you have planned it already early.

@hotsummer Yeah I don't really care to have guest over, my mortgage is a little over 3000 usd a month, I would be paying half of that if I were in a condo etc

I never lived in a condo. I have lived in houses and one apartment (for a short time). Right now I live in a house I own.
