Hey, where do you go after Ozzy Osbourne?
Of course! Continuing the list of music people we lost in 2025, here’s someone who looks really out of place after Ozzy, but was also part of an instantly-recognizable group.
Wayne Osmond
If it seems like the Osmonds have been around forever, they have been.
The Osmond Brothers were discovered singing at Disneyland by Andy Williams’ father in 1961. They became regulars on Williams’ variety show, but that didn’t catapult them to success (let’s face it: 14-year-old girls weren’t drooling over Andy Williams in the 60s!
). No, that came when little brother Donny was old enough to join the act.
While Donny was (and still is) the most famous of the Osmond clan, the other brothers continued to perform as an act. Wayne began suffering medical problems, including a brain tumor and a stroke, which (along with Alan suffering from multiple sclerosis) put an end to that generation of the Osmond family.
Fear not, though: there’s fifty five kids among the nine Osmond siblings to keep the music business overflowing with Osmonds for generations to come.
Wayne Osmond
Born Melvin Wayne Osmond, August 28, 1951, Ogden, Utah
Died January 1, 2025, Salt Lake City, Utah (stroke) (age 72)
HERE’S a sound you don’t expect out of the Osmond Brothers!!!

There was also a Merrill! Yeah, they look like they’re dancing to “One Bad Apple.”

I didn’t care for either of them, I was in love with Don Rich in 1972.

Most people are like that: Donny, Marie, maybe Jimmy, and, like the first season of the Gilligan’s Island theme song said, “and the rest.”
