Another jigsaw on the go

I finished my last jigsaw in record time but I had done it before which always helps. I brought this one called 'Tapestry Cat' home from the clubhouse but I think it might be a while before I’m able to return it. I usually start with the edge pieces but it’s all so symmetrical that I think the edge is going to be real challenge. I might be better off to start with something more in the middle of the picture; something which isn’t duplicated. What do you think?

I always do the edge. At least when they have edges . Then I think I would do the frame around the cat.

I've started on the edge. I was going to do the frame first but then decided that would be just as complicated as the edge.

It looks like fun. I always start with the edges.

I've started with the edges too. And I've separated out all the frame bits too that go just inside the edges.

@JudyEv - This is also my opinion. I always start doing the edges, but here it looks very hard.

@LadyDuck I've managed to get the frame done and now I'm working on the next row which has what looks like a chain. It's slow work!

I think having so much the same round the edges will make it a bit difficult.

I think this jigsaw is going to be a fun one no matter where you start it!

It's going to be a bit tricky I think. I've actually started with the edges after all.

Ooh, it’s pretty. I’m sure that edge is going to be a challenge, but it’ll certainly be beautiful when you’re finished!

That's beautiful but also difficult. Maybe try and start with the face?

I've started with the edges after all. I keep coming across the ear bits so I might put those together as I find them.

That is a beautiful puzzle. I always begin with edges too but sometimes come across pieces that go together and will do so.

@JudyEv That is a great idea! I'm taking one of my granddaughters to the thrift store tomorrow and they always have puzzles. I'll see what they have.

@noni1959 I wash out the margarine tubs and keep them for sorting pieces in the beginning. I can sit in front of the TV and sort colours or whatever.

I do that too. I have a big board that I assemble it on and 6 or 8 place mats that I put other bits on; maybe all the red bits or flower bits or whatever.
