St, John's County Sheriff's Office Deputy Corporal Keisler admits that in 25 years of service he has never had to capture a runaway emu who was running on the streets in the same county on Friday January 9.
Corporal Keisler led a group of his fellow deputies managed to corner the emu with Corporal Keisler using a makeshift lasso to handcuff the legs to prevent the emu from using its talons to escape.
The good news is that Corporal Keisler and the other officers did return the lost emu back to its owner safe and sound the same day.
There is an old saying which is "There is a first time for everything."

Never seen an emu up close and personal--but once there was a flock of turkey hens strutting down our street.

Back when I lived in a tiny town of Oregon, we had an emu get out from a neighbor and began a long journey of "catch the emu." With all the wild animals, we all thought for sure it would have been eaten, but nope, it began a several month journey with sightings and hilarious emu jokes, encouragements and memes he is actually living his new life undercover as the Liberty emu. After various attempts to lure, chase, pen etc. the stinker showed up back in their yard almost five months later.

I am in agreement with you since emus are good pets to their owners.

The Emu could not escape the long lasso of the Sherriff. I hope the owner keeps it better contained from now on in too.

I hope so as well for the sake of the owner of the emu, the owner keeps a sharp lookout of his pet.
