It's a good day to stay home and be silly

The fog burned off and oh my fake Spring sunshine warmed the front porch. When hubby returned from church I asked him if he minded sharing tea and a chunk of quick fuit bread and cheese with me on the front porch? Often after he returns from church he naps. Today he was okay about having tea with me. Hubby handed me a late birthday gift bag that a lady from church gave me. Oh my. Two cute towels in the bag and peanut butter chocolate candy. We enjoyed the home quick bread and broke into the chocolates. The porch is my favorite spot in this elderly house. I mixed up a batch of sugar cooky dough while hubby was gone so this afternoon I've been busy rolling and baking cookies. I wonder if anybody sticks home sugar cookies in their kid's lunches any more?

The schools here would go apesh1t if home sugar cookies were found in kids lunch boxes. Parents would be charged with neglect and abuse. Or worse, ridiculed by some up his/her own backside head teacher who has never been more will ever be a parent. They inspect the kids lunch boxes here. Any offending food is removed and it's noted on the dossier the school keeps about the kid and the parents during the kids time at primary.school. If the child moves school, the underhand dossier goes with it. One year I gave kids a Mars Bar each when they came trick and treat and one parent came back and complained I abused his son by giving him a Mars Bar. I assured the parent the kid ate the Mars Bar very quickly and asked for another as he was hungry. I suggested he start feeding his kid properly but I would tell the school my suspicions. He begged me not to, he said the dossier would be added to. Fair lointt

I don’t put any cookies in my little ones lunch. Sugar makes her hyper and I don’t want her acting like that school which would be hard on her teacher. That was a nice gift your friend from church gave your husband to give to you.

That all sounds so lovely! From having tea on the front porch to a kind belated birthday gift. I remember my mom putting a homemade sugar cookie in my lunch. Sometimes, she’d add cinnamon to make them a proper snickerdoodle. My mom loved snickerdoodles. Sugar cookies though, were always my favorite.

If I had kids and knew how to bake, I would. That does bring me back.

It sounds lovely there this afternoon. I would really trade weather with you. We won't get above freezing until Wednesday afternoon here. I'm glad you and your hubby enjoyed tea and cookies/candy on your porch.

I have no idea what goes in lunch boxes nowadays. For me, it was sandwiches and perhaps home-mede cake.
