Have you ever disputed a medical bill?

I have a bill from my soon to be ex providers office that I just don't want to pay. It was a clinic and a few providers working there were involved. Two of them were definitely below the standard of care..but I still got the services..so not sure I would prevail with this, even if your mechanic did a lousy job..they still worked on the car and spent time on it. You would still have to pay. Unless you took it to court Overall the clinic people are nice..I guess I could meet with those in billing to see what they are willing to do.

I would dispute it. You are entitled to good care and didn't get it

The medical bills are sent directly to our insurance, should I find anything wrong I would tell them, but it never happened.

I’ve only disputed a bill because the insurance wouldn’t pay, and I couldn’t afford to pay for it myself (a $326 boot for my broken ankle). I’ve never disputed one because of substandard care. I didn’t know one could do that, but it makes sense.

Hopefully you can come to some arrangement with them. You shouldn't really have to pay for sub-standard care.

I disputed a bill for services rendered that was dated AFTER one of my in-laws had passed away.

A few years back, I had to go to a special type of ear doctor for this stupid ear that blows out at times. I found out afterwards that this ''special'' ear doc charges out the nose for everything, and my visit and procedure was not totally covered, which it should have been--that the insurance would not pay the entire bill as he charges ''more than the normal amount''...I called them, and told them I was not notified of this problem beforehand. And I guess I got a bit snippy as the amount was over double what it would have been if I hadn't used this doctor. I told them I would dispute the bill. The next thing I know, I got a letter from the doctor's office saying that they accepted insurance only. Funny how that worked, huh?

@snowy22315 Yes, but worth a try, at least I think I would as from what you’ve described it was far from a good experience.

We don't get medical bills. Our forward thinking nation created our NHS in the aftermath of WW11. We basically don't pay for treatment when we recover it, The NHS is funded by all who use it though taxation and National Insurance contributions. Some people also pay for prescriptions Yay for us
